Yes. It's July. I barely posted in June and here we are into another month. Actually the month is almost half over and I'm making my first post in weeks. Um....I simply get tired of hearing myself bitch about stuff lately. And not that today's post has earth-shattering news to share or anything, but I will attempt to not whine and fuss (too much).
I've been really trying to get lost in my painting on my down time. It is not easy (as discussed previously) when you have less than optimal conditions to paint in. But...I'm really trying to make the best of it. I've been switching back and forth between oils and watercolors. I love both of them so much. And for different reasons too. I love the portability and cleanliness of watercolors, not to mention the softness you get in the end. Oils are super challenging and I love when I get into the groove and paint with them for hours. My asthma doesn't like it so well with the fumes - even using less harsh Gamblin products, there is still a chemical exposure risk involved. And when you work in a smaller space that has the tendency to be closed, it's even more noticeable at the end of several hours. Anyhow...I digress. I'm experiencing some success with the paintings that I'm producing and have been really pleased with both mediums. I continue working full time, trying to survive this endeavor for the summer too. It's not easy. I am hoping in a few short weeks I'll see the benefit of this. But really, that's about it for me. I'm posting a few new photos in the Gallery. My latest work! Hope you take a moment and check it out. And as always, have a good week (or weeks!) and do something nice for someone. You just never know....
