My life has become one very long checklist:
Oral Exam in Italian? Check.
Reading done for Women's Studies? Check.
Written Exam in Italian? Check.
Journal written for Women's Studies? Oopsie...work on that!
Worked on Zine assignment for Women's Studies? Check.
Wait...is there a paper due on the Zine too? CHECK!
Paper researched for Italian Folklore? Check.
Weekly paper written for Italian Folklore? Dammit! Missed another deadline!
Email written apologizing for missing the deadline in Italian Folklore? Check.
Presentation completed and practiced? Check.
Remember to breathe? CHECK!
See what I mean? And I've also become a essay-writing fool. Every week there is at least one new paper due for one of my classes. At least one. Sometimes two to three. I go into this production mode of writing just to spew out halfway-intelligent 750 words. Then push the magic button and on to the next task. I have to stay really organized, otherwise I forget assignments (annnnnnnnd.....that only sometimes works, cause I've missed a couple in Folklore class and I'm grateful she's a very forgiving professor and works with me). I register for next semester's classes on Monday, and believe me there will be more art and less of this lecture/writing nonsense. Then I can focus on you, my deal little blog! I feel like I've been slighting you terribly these past weeks, but a girl can only write so much.
Bwain is verryverryverry tired!
On deck this weekend is two papers for Folklore, one journal for Women's Studies and one paper on my Zine for that class, one paper for my Studio Art class and one homework assignment for Italian Language class. So many words. Can she do it? Positive out. Positive in.
Painting for class is going really well! I am super pleased with progression of my autumnal scene. I am trying my hardest to keep with my daily ink sketches too. Are you following me on Instagram? I believe we've discussed this previously people!! (Insert mommy look here - really need some emoji's) If you were following, you'd be seeing all my daily work. And I managed to do another painting story on Instagram too. Anyhow... Unfortunately, there are only so many hours in the day to do everything, and Wonder Woman I am not. Sad....cause she kicked ass! I digress, but my art is going well. I'm supposed to be moving on to the next assignment in painting too, but I pumped the brakes and said "hold up there - I want to finish this one before I move on." It's really hard to get critiqued on work that's half done and you start something new, but still expected to finish the previous one. My brain and creative process just wants to finish something! But I will say this, my ink sketches and thoughts of the next assignment are giving me ideas for that final painting proposal (a series of three paintings that are a series of work) I need to put together for class this week. DAMMIT!!!! That's another thing for the checklist - a written proposal! :(
Well, that's my cue here. I'd better get cracking. It's time to start writing and making those check marks next to done assignments. Have a great week everyone. Do something nice for someone.
