I. AM. ALIVE.
Yes. I know that was utmost on all of your minds. Life has been full of changes lately, so I've been kind of laying low and riding it all out. Work has settled out and I am no longer reporting to crazy man. He no longer has any relevance in my life and I won't spend any more energy on him. I am in the process of getting a promotion too. Yessss....not even through my probationary period and getting a promotion. I mentioned there had been many changes recently, didn't I? Truth. New boss is someone who recognizes my value and what I bring to the table and feels I need to be in a higher position. Plus I told him if the expectation was for me to sit and answer phones, this wasn't the job for me. Sometimes you have to advocate for yourself. Life lessons people. Life lessons. I haven't quite found that work/art balance yet. It's getting closer. I still get frustrated because I can't art as much as I would like. As soon as I can, I think I will be more at peace with myself and my "status quo". Speaking of art... I put up a new page with info about my upcoming art show. If you are reading this, and live in Tucson, I have the expectation that you will be at the show. I'm looking at you. Yes....you. Anyhow, I paint the big personal pieces on the weekends when I can sneak out to dad's to paint in my studio, and I do simple doodle/watercolor pieces (and the mixed media pieces too) during the week whenever I can. It's not easy to cram it all in. Cause you know....I like my sleep too much to give it up. Plus it's not a good look on me when I lose sleep. Just saying.... I'm posting a few new pics of stuff that I've done for the show. If you are following me on Instagram, you'll know all the other stuff I've been working on too (and really, you should be following me). This past weekend I sold 10 pieces (plus a handful of note cards too) at a private show. That was huge. The next few weeks (and I do mean few) are going to be insane trying to replace work that's sold and get everything done that I want to do for the show. I figure I can really rest during my break between Christmas and New Years. Did I mention the UA basically shuts down between holidays and we get paid for staying home? Yes. Definite benefit of being employed there. Anyhow...jot down the show info. If you want to get a jump start on your holiday gifties, swing by and see me. If you do come, I always accept treats, but more likely, I'll need a bathroom break. Ha! Just keeping it real. :)
