Another semester is wrapping up. This is the first weekend in I can't remember when I didn't have one more paper to write. I have an Italian Final to take Tuesday, and a FolkTales Final on Wednesday. Then a little under a month off. I plan on painting, practicing my painted signature in oils and getting caught up on my movies. I have a huge stack from dad that is sitting there collecting dust. Must get busy watching!
I said goodbye to my professor from Women's Study class this week. My final was an art piece/research paper combo. The painting was fun to do a mixed media collage. And when I gave it to her after class, I found myself getting surprisingly emotional. Gah. What a collassal dork I am. But every semester I find myself getting attached to one class. This was it for me. I learned so much about politics and social awareness. I also learned so much about me too. And how I fit into my own skin. This class was like therapy for me. I could finally let go of some much needed baggage in my psyche. I'm so glad that Mari loved the painting and that she will frame and hang it. No greater compliment for me than someone enjoys one of my creations and wants to see it every day. My show is still up and MANY pieces (affordable!) are still available! Four small pieces have sold. Please consider buying one of the larger pieces. I'd really like to get them into loving homes! Especially the Barrio Series. I can see that on someone's long wall. I think that if those pieces don't sell, I'll have Sandi tear them apart. I can paint something else to go in the frames, and I'll tuck the door paintings with their mats away. It has become too hard to store larger work and not have it become damaged, and it's much easier to pack a few mats into a box. For now, I must run. Have a good week everyone and do something nice for someone!
