My show is up! After my friend Sandi and I finished hanging everything, I stood there and looked at all my hard work from the past two years... I smiled because I knew that I was in the right place at the right time for me. This is what all the frustration and at times tears were about. Having my paintings hang in a space. Having the potential to be purchased and hung in someone else's home. Having the opportunity to share my love and passion of painting with someone else. This is it. I finally know what I was meant to do with my life. For the first time in I don't know how long, I felt really proud of myself and all that I created and accomplished. And I also know this isn't a stopping point, but a beginning of great things to come.
It's Finals time once again at school! A time I both dread as well as wish were over in a blink of an eye. Line up for the next couple of weeks....oral exam in Italian Tuesday; research paper and painting for Women's Studies due Friday; written exam in Italian the following Tuesday; online exam and final research paper due Wednesday for Italian Folk Tales; final painting critique on Monday 12/12 for Painting. Plus I have a painting I want to do for my Folk Tales professor - she told this lovely story in class this week about her grandmother, and I want to see if I can capture the essence of the story. Not to mention the emotion and love behind the story too. People who didn't speak the same language but who managed to communicate with each other just the same. It was a beautiful story and I had a very vivid image appear in my mind as she was telling her story. Something more to add to the pot over the next couple of weeks! I must enjoy the challenge. I have to run as papers unfortunately don't write themselves. I'm looking forward to my winter break in a couple of weeks. Uninterrupted painting time. Plus there are a few places I want to explore. Positive out, positive in. I've posted a few photos of work that are hanging in the show. Have a good week everyone. Do something good for someone.
