I find by Saturday, I'm seriously exhausted. And now that I've passed that 50-year mark (ha!), I've realized there are different kinds of exhaustion too...brain exhaustion, physical exhaustion, emotional exhaustion, stress exhaustion... And depending on what exactly I've encountered over the past week, it can be one or a combo and I'm knackered. I cannot wait to sleep in Sunday morning. There really is something in that simple joy of sleeping in for maybe as little as 30 extra minutes. But it's the thought that you are doing something totally indulgent for yourself. I like it.
Here's where my week issues ended...
Apartment - still sucks. They didn't take the extra charge off my account, so when I paid rent, I ended up paying because AGAIN, you cannot pay partial payments. My next door neighbor (let's call him the balcony buddy, since we share the balcony to enter our individual apartments) left his "glass smoking device" out on the balcony this morning. MAN what I wouldn't give for an emoji right now! Yeah. I photographed it. I'll be forwarding that to the property manager. I also received a notice to clean the non-compliance stuff off my balcony. I might have mentioned that I'm truly over it....right? Insert another emoji. Same stuff I've had on my balcony for the past year. It's not going inside and I'm not getting rid of the stuff. Break the damn lease at this point.
Pima - I received my refund check on Thursday. Eleven days after I dropped the class. Full amount was refunded. Let's just leave it there with a smile.
Work - EXHAUSTED. Nine and a half hours yesterday to cover someone else. I'm currently working on ways to better control my stress and not internalize issues so much. This, no matter your skill-set or experience, is never easy. I am trying my hardest to focus on for each hour that I work this summer puts me that much closer to paying off shit, putting cash away, and working toward that break before school starts. Bring on the ramen! Ha! I contacted my corporate HR to find out if because I'm working full time this summer, if that qualifies me for any type of benefit (insurance, paid time off etc). I was told no it doesn't. But they would submit a status change form so that I'm not classified as PRN staff anymore, I'll be part time. I guess this is good? I have very mixed feelings about this. I think it's a crime for an employer to take advantage of an employee by under-paying them, and not seeing the necessity of evaluations and raises for years. And no accountability for management staff. My soapbox moment - my two cents. It adds to the frustration tho.
Anyhow....that's it for me. I'm hoping to paint over my weekend. And go visit my dad and son. Maybe I'll get up early and take Fred the wonder pup to the doggie park to run around a bit. We'll see. It's pretty damn hot currently, and I don't need to add heat exhaustion to the list! Ha! Do something nice for someone this week. You just never know what they may have going in their life.....
